Getting Your Child's Car Unlocked When They Have Locked In Their Car Keys

As a parent, you want your child to come to you when any issue happens. This can come at inconvenient times, including when you are at work. If your child is now driving themselves to and from school and activities, they may lock their keys in their car at one time or another. For this reason, it is best to have a plan in place for when you get "the call." Here are some steps to take when your child locks themselves out of their car and you are at work.

Pre-coordinate with the school

Schools sometimes limit who they allow to come on the property. Even if your child is locked out of their car and needs an auto locksmith, such as Migoley Stephen K, they may still need permission to work on school grounds. Once your child starts driving to and from school. contact the school to determine if they work with a particular auto locksmith who is allowed on campus. If this is the case, you should get the information for the company so that you can call them for your child.

Provide prepayment before they dispatch

Some auto insurance companies offer roadside assistance with full coverage. If you are permitted to have your own auto locksmith go to campus, call up your insurance company and give them your child's location. To make sure you are ready for the lockout, you should keep a copy of your insurance information and your child's car information at your job or inside of your wallet. If you must use the auto locksmith that the school recommends, call the locksmith on a three-way phone call with your child. During the call, pay for the service with your credit or debit card. Pre-paying means that after the vehicle is unlocked, your child will be able to head right home and will not have to worry about figuring out the debt.

Inform their next activity

Keys might get locked inside of the car when your child should be heading to their after-school activities. If your child leaves campus for lunch, they may also lock their keys in the car during this time as well. Make it a rule that before they call you or the locksmith, they must inform the contact at their next activity that they will be late. This will keep you from receiving further calls about your child being tardy and help keep their permanant school record in tact.

About Me

Using A Great Safe

About a year ago, I could tell that there were some serious problems with my home security. I had been robbed twice, and I knew that I needed to make some changes in order to protect my belongings and my family. I worked hard to figure out what I could do to improve my security, but ultimately I decided that I needed a strong safe. I started looking around for a safe that would work for what I needed, and I was able to find an excellent business that would work for my belongings. It was incredible to have everything locked up and protected. This blog is all about using great safes.
