3 Ways To Get Back Into Your Car

Getting stuck somewhere because you accidentally locked your keys in your car can be really frustrating. If that does happen, what are you supposed to do? You don't want to end up sitting around for hours and hours or have to start walking, so you need to figure out something.

Hide a Key

The easiest way to make sure you can get into your car if you get locked out is to make sure that you have a spare key. There are several ways that you can do that. One is to get a container that you can hide somewhere on the outside of your car that can hold your key. Generally, these containers are magnetic and you can just put it somewhere on the frame of your car. There are a couple of issues with doing this. One is that it can make it easier for thieves to break into your car because all they have to do is search for your key. Another is that you might have a hard time finding a place on your car to hide the key where you can reach it.

Shoelace

If your car has a post type lock, one that you push down and pull up, you can use your shoelace to hook onto it and then pull it up. If you don't have a shoelace, any piece of string that is around the same size will work. First, make a slip knot in the string. You don't want it right at the center, nor do you want it directly at the end. You do what the slip knot set up so that what you pull on the longer part of the lace, the knot will tighten. Work the string in between the car door and the frame of your car, with the look going into the car. You may have to jiggle the car door a little in order to get the space to do it, which is why you want a thin string. Get the loop on the lock post and then pull up.

Roadside Assistance/Locksmith

If you don't feel like unlocking your car is something that you can do yourself, you can always get in touch with a locksmith or roadside assistance. They can come out and get your car open for you. They have tools that they can use to unlock your car so that you can get in and get on your way.

About Me

Using A Great Safe

About a year ago, I could tell that there were some serious problems with my home security. I had been robbed twice, and I knew that I needed to make some changes in order to protect my belongings and my family. I worked hard to figure out what I could do to improve my security, but ultimately I decided that I needed a strong safe. I started looking around for a safe that would work for what I needed, and I was able to find an excellent business that would work for my belongings. It was incredible to have everything locked up and protected. This blog is all about using great safes.
